A Catch Up Post

It’s been a while so I’ll catch you up with what’s been happening.

First, my debut series, FELIX AND ADDIE are scheduled to be released by Wombat Books in 2028! It seems so far away but it means the illustrator will have time to do an awesome job and hopefully it will grow from a two to a three book series. I’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, my story, Hockey Anyone, has been published in LITERALLY HILARIOUS ! FAMILIES GONE WILD, a collection of funny family stories, poems and fun stuff for kids. Click here for details. Published by Daisy Lane Seeds in collaboration with Just write for kids, with proceeds to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation,

I’m not sure what I am most excited about. Being published with so many amazing authors and illustrators – or having my name in a book with NY Times #1 bestselling author, Adam Wallace!

See below for the hilarious video from the creators – and me 🙂

I’m excited!

And I’m not sure if I mentioned this, but I also signed a contract for a short story to be published in The School Magazine in 2027.

This is a huge achievement. I think I could wallpaper my room with the lovely rejections I have received to date so signing that contracts did lead to some celerbratory dancing. And perhaps a whoop or two :-).

But there is more! It’s been quite a year.

In November my young adult fantasy story, Marked, will be part of the new Rhiza Edge Anthology, DRAGONS DOORWAYS AND DESTINY, Short Stories in Fantastical Worlds. Click here for details.

AND – last but definitely not least – I have just found out my poem, The Christmas Turkey will be included in StormCloud publishing’s Christmas E-Book.

It has been a huge year and the thing with this business is, this amazing run might not continue but that’s the way it goes.

For every win there are so many stories that didn’t get through and I know they are the majority of my submissions. So when something does get through, I party like it’s the most exciting thing in the world because, in that moment, it is!

Back to writing for me – because even though the wins are exciting – it’s writing and constantly seeking to improve my craft that keeps me going!
